General Information
Sessions:
Fall Session runs mid August-mid December
Spring Session runs early January-early June
We are closed during the Summer months

Dismissal
There are a few reasons which warrant dismissal:
* Inability to accomodate requested schedule
* Child repeatedly poses a danger to himself or others
*Home Daycare setting is not the best fit for child's needs and
One on One Nanny or Commercial Daycare setting would better accomodate child
Note: Scratching and Biting: Biting usually will stop,
but scratching is preventable by removing the weapon.
Please start a routine where every Sunday night,
you trim down all of your child's nails,
being sure to remove all corners and sharp edges.

This will prevent the children from scratching themselves or others.
PS: We play hard and get pretty sweaty and dirty here everyday.
It is a good idea to give your child a
QUICK BATH EACH NIGHT
that they are here, to rinse off a day's worth of germs :-)

Supplies (to be kept at Daycare)
Huggies Refill Pack, which would fill 2 containers
(every other week for Full-Timers, as needed for Part-Timers)
1 Sleeve of Diapers as needed (No boxes and multiple packs please! The brand is not important, however, I do make recommendations if the size or volume or fit are causing frequent leaks)
Diaper Rash Ointment with child's name
Flushable Wipes for Potty Training children, to be kept in bathroom
(either Huggies Brand or Scott's Naturals or you may buy a container from me for $2)

For Infants, bring as needed (labeled with child's name):

For Toddlers  without molars, bring as needed (labeled with child's name):
Boxed Cereal**, Toddler Formula and Stage 2 & 3 Jarred foods* (check menu)

*it is usually easiest to bring baby food jars weekly
** I will provide Gerber Oatmeal, Rice or Mixed Grain Cereal.
You only need to bring cereal, if you prefer a different brand ex) Organic, etc.
Also, I keep an emergency back up supply of jarred foods just in case
someone forgets to bring in their child's food or in case of a spill.

Optional: Blankie or Binky or small stuffed (quiet) pal for naptime to stay in child's bed.
You may prefer to bring this in your daily bag and bring it in each day.
However, if your child normally gets a binky at home,
please be sure to bring one in as they will need that security more,
when they are away from home.

I do not need: Toddler & Preschooler's cups, waterproof bibs, spoons, forks, plates & bowls
Optional Bottles: I have Playtex nursers available for use.
I have used every kind of bottle and my personal favorite for the daycare setting is
the 4 oz Playtex nursers with disposable liners.
They are lightweight and prevent air ingestion.
You may either provide a Playtex 4oz bottle that will be for your child's use only
or I will provide one of the bottles that I have in stock.

Suggested Attire
Leave Your Sunday Best at Home!!
In a Daycare setting, certain types of clothes are problematic or hazardous,
if they can get caught on things, or yanked on or ingested by other children.
Therefore; the following are NOT Recommended:
Dresses, Shirts with a big flare,
Jeans/Pants/Denim shorts with Zippers,
Clothes with Buttons, Strings, Bows, Ties, or Belts,
Sequins and Glitter that sheds, sandles, Flip Flops, Crocs
Also, Bracelets, Necklaces and Earrings, especially Hoop Earrings.
Post earrings are ok, but can stilled be pulled on by other children,
resulting in a torn earlobe.
Suggested Clothing
Socks & Velcro Sneakers
For Infants and Toddlers: Onesies with snaps that connect both legs
and cotton shorts, leggings, 360 degrees/full elastic  waistband pants (without zippers)
or cozy sweatpants. One Piece T-shirt Rompers are great if you can find them.
Plus, binkies attached to shirt or cloth bib for droolers.
For Toddlers & Preschoolers: Cotton T-Shirts, full elastic (360 degrees) waisted shorts,
leggings, cotton full elastic waisted pants or sweatpants.
Cozy No-Frills Clothes are Best :-)

Traffic (Outdoor)
Whenever possible, please park in my driveway.
Parking on my street is illegal and I don't want to cause any obstructions
or cause my neighbors any inconvenience.
Since this is a Private Daycare (and I love my neighbors),
please be mindful of my neighbors and make drop offs and pick ups as quiet as possible,
especially drop offs, when some of my neighbors may still be sleeping.
Traffic (Indoor)
I finally got a new rug!
If you wouldn't mind, please remove your shoes at the front tile foyer.
Thank you!

Meals & Menu
Infants are fed formula or mother's milk on demand
(You supply Formula or mother's milk, I supply distilled water. I do not use Nursery water, since it contains a highly controversial contaminent. I do not use tap water or mineral water, since they contain unhealthy inorganic minerals. True, there are tiny amounts of healthy organic minerals in tap & mineral water, but you would need to drink a bath tub full of water to get any sufficient amounts and with that you'll get all the contaminents. Only plants can convert inorganic minerals to organic minerals, for our benefit,  so eat your veggies!) See information below:

  • Organic minerals- these are once living, or are living and can bring life to cells. These contain carbon, and their electrons spin clockwise, just like those of the human body. Additionally, these cells can form an ionic bond with the body and can easily break down into materials to help with bodily function, such as tissue repair.
  • Inorganic materials- these were never living, without carbon and cannot bring life to cells. The body treats these metals like toxins, since their bonds are tightly held together and they cannot be easily broken down. And, their electrons spin counterclockwise which is out of sync with the rest of our body.

  • Toddlers without molars (to grind and mash food) have the following menu:
  • Breakfast: (you supply jars of fruits)
  • 1/4-1/3 cup Oatmeal with
  • M- Bananas, Tu-Pears, W- Berries, Th-Applesauce, F-Tropical fruits
  • plus 4 oz Toddler formula or Water
  • Lunch: (you supply jars of vegetables)
  • Mixed Grains or Rice cereal with
  • M-Carrots, Tu-Squash, W-Green Beans, Th-Sweet Potatoes. F-Peas
  • plus 4 oz Toddler Formula or water
  • Afternoon snack: Puffs & 4oz Formula
  • *Q:Why not tiny solid foods? Besides the obvious choking hazard, it is my belief that the body will grow grinding teeth when  the digestive track is mature enough to receive it.  Many little ones just swallow these chunks whole. It is harmful for anyone, including adults to swallow food that is not chewed to an almost liquid state.  You may research this online. To be safe, I keep the little ones on Oatmeal with Fruits for breakfast and Mixed Grains with Vegetables for lunch until they have enough teeth to properly chew their food.

Sick Policy
Children who have fevers above 101,
or who have symptoms of vomitting, diarrhea,
unexplained rashes, lice or any other symptoms
which may be contageous or communicable will be sent home.
Luckily, children in Private Daycares
get sick half as much as Public Daycares
and we usually cycle through our colds together.
Also, it is best to let me know what symptoms your child
is experiencing, when they are sick,
so that I can alert the other parent's of what symptoms
to watch out for or to take some preventative steps.
I also may switch the kids to a BRAT diet, etc...
so their immune systems can focus on the seasonal pathogens.
Allergy Alert
There is one dog and a few fish on the premises.
The dog is not a hypoallergenic variety, with hair that does not shed.
The dog has fur and sheds. Children with animal allergies
may experience increased sensitivities such as sneezing,
watery eyes, wheezing, hives, etc... when visiting this pet-friendly environment.

Potty Training Policy
There are many physical, emotional
and behavioral components to potty training.
The "Truth" is that each child decides when they
will master all the steps and become "Potty Trained".
There are also many, many definitions of a Potty Trained Child.
 A Potty Trained Child can:
1) Stop what they are doing and language that they have to go potty
2) Get to the bathroom on time (Run-Run-Run!)
3) Pull down their pants
4) Pull off their dry diaper or pull down their dry Pull-up diaper
5) Sit down on the toilet or potty
6) Get "all" of their pee-pee and "all" of their poo-poo into the potty
7)Wipe themselves dry (pee-pee) and make a good attempt of wiping the poo-poo off
8) Put Pull-up diaper back on
9) Put pants back on
10)Turn on water, get soap, wash, rinse and dry hands
or ask for help to complete this part

*Children who cannot do all of these steps are "Potting Training",
not "Potty Trained".

Whether your child spends 10 or 50 hours in my care, this is my
Potty Training Policy:
Potty training children must remain in highly absorbant diapers
until they are making many successful attempts at staying dry
and getting to the potty on time, mostly for sanitary reasons.
I have an obligation to provide the other children with a sanitary, safe play area
free of urine, feces, bacteria, viruses and other bodily waste.
Once they are ready and stay dry for one whole day,
they can start wearing Pull-Ups (which are not highly absorbant).
Children remain in Pull-Ups until they have 10 Dry Days in a row.....
meaning: the Pull-Up they come in with in the morning,
is the same one that they leave in, at the end of the day.
* They must also go poo-poo in the potty at least once during these 10 days
and be doing 90-100% of the 10 steps described above
on a daily basis with minimal assistance.
It is my experience, that a "Potty Trained" child will stay dry and accident free, regardless of whether they are in fabric underpants or a cloth-like Pull-Up.
Once they accomplish 10 dry days in a row ,
they may now wear "Big Kid" underpants to the Daycare.
Hurray!
....and.....sometimes for various reasons......illness...etc....
children regress or have slight set-backs where they may have a period of time
with frequent accidents and we may have to Repeat some of the steps.
This will be decided at my discretion.
(Note: You can help by dressing your child in easy on/off clothes
like sweatpants, leggings or shorts with an elastic waist.
Young children have a hard time with buttons and zippered pants or jeans)
